Foucault: his theories and applications

public - created 03/10/04
Foucault wrote in his book "Discipline and Punish" that the Panopticon-styled prison was the appropriate metaphor of how society is constructed to control the masses. Everything to Foucault was based on his "knowledge/power" paradigm. What I'm curious to explore, is how these theories of control, power, subjugation can be applied to mass media, especially television. All other discussions on Foucault are welcomed as well.
